Robert G. Maholick, 71, of Gainesville, GA passed away Thursday, December 12, 2019. A Georgia native, Mr. Maholick was born December 29, 1947 to the late Dr. Leonard Thomas Maholick and Ann Clark Maholick. He was a General Contractor and owner of American Steel Builders, building many steel buildings in and around the Atlanta area. Mr. Maholick was a vintage car racing enthusiast and was happiest when driving around the track at Road Atlanta. He was a U.S. veteran having served in the Army National Guard of Alabama and the Air Force National Guard at Dobbins Air Force Base. Most importantly, Mr. Maholick loved and protected his wife, enjoyed cooking weekly dinners with his daughter and taught his son everything he knows about cars & construction.
Survivors include his wife, Rita Wimberly Maholick; children, Robert Allen Maholick, Jennifer Maholick Austin, and Christopher Scott Maholick; grandchildren, Jacob Allen Maholick, Kaitlyn Ann Diestler, Brooklyn Helena Diestler, Madielyn Elizabeth Diestler, and Erica Francine Rath. He is also survived by his siblings, Leonard Thomas (Tom) Maholick, Kathleen (Kathy) Ann Maholick, Camille Louise Marcum, and Regina (Gina) Bayard Maholick.
The family and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life Service Thursday, January 9, 2020, at 11:00 a.m. at the Ingram Funeral Home Chapel.
The family would like to thank Barbara Milot from Longleaf Hospice for her amazing care she gave Dad. She loved him as if he were her own father, and we are forever grateful for her devoted service.
