Allen Stanley Hames, Jr.

Allen Stanley Hames, Jr., age 87, of Cumming, Georgia, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Saturday September 3, 2022.  Allen is survived by his wife of 69 years, Jimmie Lee Hames, his daughter Denise Wagoner and spouse Dave Wagoner, his grandchildren Tamara Ragsdale, Kristina Putman, and Tony Morris, and his great-grandchildren Avery, Brynn, Bailey, Caleb, and Cooper.  

Allen, Born November 21, 1934  in Atlanta Georgia, was the son of Allen and Willie Mae Hames.  Allen and Jimmie Lee met at O’keefe High School started dating then got married in December of 1952.  Allen attended Georgia Tech after graduation and worked at Bailey-Lewis-Williams and Swim Quip  prior to owning Artistic Pools of Atlanta for many years.  During retirement, Allen and his wife loved to travel around the United States in their RV, enjoyed being with family, and living life on the lake.

Allen was a member of First Baptist Church of Cumming Georgia where he volunteered and served his church  by driving the church bus for many years.  He was also an avid member of the Lions Club and NSPI.

Services will be Saturday September 10th at First Baptist Church of Cumming starting at 11:00 AM.
