Alton Ira Westray

Alton Ira Westray, 86, a lifelong resident of Cumming passed away Thursday, June 29, 2023. Alton was a loving husband and good provider for his family. He loved playing with his grandchildren all the time and tending to his horses. Alton was a longtime, faithful member of Brookwood Baptist Church. He is preceded in death by his wife, Shelby Jean Sorrells Westray.

Survivors include his daughters and sons-in-law Regina Westray (Russell) Patterson, Sherri Westray (Winston) Taylor; grandchildren, Laura Ott, David (Kristin) Patterson, Scott (Mandy) Patterson, Michael Ott; 17 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; his loyal faithful canine companion of 18 years, Corkey; a number of brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, cousins and other relatives.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, July 2, at 2:00 p.m. at the Ingram Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Sawnee View Gardens.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. and Sunday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
