Anita “Paige” Prather

November 23, 1966 — January 14, 2024

Anita “Paige” Prather

Heaven became even brighter in the early morning hours of January 14, 2024, when Anita “Paige” Prather entered the pearly gates and was welcomed by her Savior, Jesus Christ, her mother and daddy, Linda and Henard Blackwell and her baby brother who she never met here on earth, John Dwayne Belcher.  She was also welcomed by grandparents, Hallman and Wynelle Blackwell and Gil and Jean Heining along with several aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Those who remain here to cherish her memory, her love, and to live out her loving, caring, and giving legacy are Allen Prather, her husband (and soulmate as she referred to him), and her “babies” as Paige called them, her daughter and son-in-love, Ashley and Ben James, her son, Adam Prather, her grandchildren, Addie Grace Strickland, Peyton James, and Tyler James, and her nephew, Carter Blackwell.   She is also survived by her siblings, Judy (Harold) Haygood, Jean Henson, and Shane Blackwell along with her precious Aunt Sue Cobb.  She is also survived by many other nieces, nephews, cousins, and countless friends who she considered family.

Paige was born on November 23, 1966, was a graduate of Forsyth County High School, Class of 1984, and was a faithful member of Bethlehem Baptist Church on Post Road in Cumming, Georgia.  To know Paige was to love Paige.  She loved BIG and gave much to everyone she met.  She was a light to all who knew her and a special gift from God.  She loved people fiercely and unapologetically.  She always put others’ needs above her own.  She made a personal connection with everyone she loved, making each family member and friend feel special and unique.  She could make you laugh until you cried; she was the shoulder that so many cried upon, and she would join you in your tears.  She was a ROCK to so many people, and her presence on earth will be greatly missed, but her legacy will live on in her family and many friends as will her love for all those she touched.

Visitation will be held at Ingram’s Funeral Home on Tuesday, January 16th from 4pm to 9pm and Wednesday, January 17th from 4pm to 9pm.  Funeral services will be at the Ingram Funeral Home Chapel at 2pm on Thursday, January 18th with Rev.
