Ann Gwin Garner

Ann Gwin Garner, 88, of Cumming, GA, formerly of Marietta, GA passed away Tuesday, February 6, 2024. Mrs. Garner was born in Atlanta, GA to the late John Henry and Margaret Thomas Gwin.  Ann graduated from North Fulton High School and earned her Bachelors degree from Florida State University.  Mrs. Garner loved her family, especially her grandchildren. Ann enjoyed bible study, playing canasta, and traveling around the world, but especially going to orange beach with her family. Mrs. Garner spent her career educating children and retired from the Cobb County Board Of Education. 

Mrs. Garner was preceded in death her loving husband of 58 years, James D. (Jim) Garner, Sr.; and her son, Jim Garner, Jr.

She is survived by her son, Steven Garner of Dallas, GA; daughter, Alicia (Paul) Polley of Woodstock, GA; daughter in-law, Donna Cory of Cumming, GA; grandchildren, Lauren Garner, Ryan Polley, Matthew Polley, Davis Polley, Emily Polley, Austin Awtrey, Chase Awtrey; great grandson, River Waylon Awtrey.

A funeral mass will be held 11:00 am Saturday, February 10, 2024. at St. Columba’s Episcopal Church with The Rev. Fr. Tripp Norris officiating. Inurnment services will be held at a later date in the  Georgia National Cemetery.
