Obituary

Barbara Jean English Biddy, passed away peacefully on August 18, 2026, at the age of 86, surrounded by the family she loved so deeply.

Born January 23, 1940, Barbara grew up in the Chestatee Community of Forsyth County, where she later met the love of her life, Rev. Jack Biddy, on a blind date. That simple introduction blossomed into a beautiful 66-year marriage filled with enduring love and devotion. Together, Barbara and Jack built a Christ-centered home filled with faith, laughter, and love.

Her family was her greatest joy. She was proud of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and made every effort to be present for the moments that mattered.

Barbara was especially blessed to care for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren during the summer, and they fondly referred to it as “Grandmother Bobbie’s Summer School.”

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 66 years, Rev. Jack Biddy; her infant daughter; parents, Kermit and Dola Bell English; brothers, Rev. C.L. English and Rev. Edwin “Spud” English; and sisters, Christine Bennett and Shirley Thompson.

Barbara is survived by her son, Rev. Timothy and Robin Biddy; daughter, Aimee and John Wilkie; grandchildren, Nicholas and Jessi Biddy, Rachel and CJ Sams, Jacob and Ashley Wilkie, and Luke Wilkie; and nine great-grandchildren, Cameron, Coley, and Cora Biddy, Fisher, Walker, Forrest, Remi and Isaac Sams, and Paisley Wilkie; sister-in-law Becky Bain; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Wayne & Dagmar Biddy, Gary & Joyce Biddy, and Kelly & Regina Biddy. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, and other beloved relatives.

The family wishes to express sincere thanks to the staff of Hospice of Northeast Georgia Medical Center for their kind and loving care during her final days.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, August 21st, 2026, at 2:00 PM, at Silver City Baptist Church with Rev. Russel Burt, Rev. Bud Sutton, and Rev. Garry English officiating. The interment will follow at Sawnee View Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, August 20th, 2026, from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM, and again on Friday from 11:00 AM until the hour of service.
