Barbara Kidd, aged 79, passed away peacefully on August 9, 2026, in Cumming, GA.

Born on December 16, 1946, in Jefferson City, TN, Barbara graduated from Nursing School and worked many years in various positions within the hospital system before becoming a nursing home reviewer for the state of Texas.

Known for her gentle heart and kind, loving nature, she brought warmth to every conversation she started. An insatiable reader, she spent her happiest hours exploring new worlds and learning through books, usually with a favorite cat curled up beside her. Her quick wit, love for storytelling, and devotion to her feline companions will be missed by all who knew her. She never knew a stranger, and was gifted at making people feel comfortable enough to tell their life story. She had a caring heart, was very generous and the best mom a family could ask for.

Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Paul David Kidd, as well as her brother, Ronnie Swann, and sister, Wanda Mitchell. She is survived by her daughter, Paula Strickland and son, Richard Kidd.
