Barbara "Carolyn" King

With heavy hearts and deep gratitude for a life so well lived, we announce the passing of Carolyn King, our cherished wife, mother, grandmother, and the unwavering heart of our family. Carolyn left this world peacefully, surrounded by those who loved her most, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, grace, and unconditional love.

Born and raised in North Carolina, Carolyn embodied the warmth, charm, and gentle strength of a true Southern lady. From an early age, she radiated compassion and care for others, qualities that would define her throughout her life. It was through the 4H club that she met the love of her life, Bob — a match truly made in heaven. Their union of 63 beautiful years was a testament to enduring love, friendship, and shared purpose.

Carolyn and Bob journeyed together across the United States during their marriage, eventually settling in Atlanta, Georgia, where they raised their two beloved sons, Michael and Darrell. A devoted and nurturing mother, Carolyn created a home filled with warmth, laughter, and unwavering support. Her family was her greatest joy, and she poured her heart into every moment spent with them.

Carolyn enjoyed a long and successful career as a food broker — a profession she not only excelled in but genuinely loved. Her talent, integrity, and personal touch made her widely known and deeply respected, wherever her work took her. It was not uncommon, even in faraway places, for someone to smile and say, “Oh, I know Carolyn.”

A woman of deep faith, Carolyn was devoted to God and to her beloved Sunday school class, where she found lifelong friendship and spiritual nourishment. She found great joy in fellowship and serving others, always the first to offer a helping hand or a listening ear.

She also embraced life’s lighter moments with joy and laughter. Carolyn loved to travel, delighting in new places and experiences, and was an enthusiastic member of the Red Hat Club — a community of friendship and fun that brought her immense happiness. She also cherished the companionship of her beloved dog Max, who brought her daily joy and comfort with his loyal presence.

Carolyn is survived by her devoted husband, Bob; her son Michael and his wife Caroline; her grandsons Justin and Dylan, who brought her endless pride and joy; her son Darrell and his wife Susan; and a wide circle of family, friends, and loved ones who will forever cherish her memory.

To know Carolyn was to be embraced by love — a love that was gentle yet strong, steadfast and joyful. She was our rock, our guiding light, our constant source of encouragement and strength. Though our hearts ache with her absence, we are comforted by the legacy she leaves behind — one of faith, family, grace, and generosity.

Her life was a blessing. Her memory a treasure. She is loved beyond words and missed beyond measure.
