Barbara Dean Nalley

Barbara Dean Nalley, age 83, of Cumming, GA, went to be with her Savior, Jesus Christ on September 13th, 2025. She was a beloved wife, mother, sister, and grandmother. Barbara was a member of the First Baptist Church of Cumming. She loved her church and her family. Barbara worked for the Forsyth County Board of Education. She worked as a librarian and secretary until her retirement. She is preceded in death by her husbands, George W. Nalley and Winfield Rich; parents, James Miles Sanders and Clara Mae Jones Sanders; siblings, Hazel Sanders Rickett, Fairis Sanders Dockery, Bonnie Sanders Cagle, Nelson Sanders, Elizabeth Sanders Lee, Arlin Sanders.

Due to her faith, Barbara worked as a Vacation Bible School teacher, visited with the bus ministry, and sung in the church choir. She also worked in the church nursery. Barbara played piano for the Children’s Church at Sharon Baptist Church. She served as a missionary on several trips to Honduras, Mexico, and Ethiopia.

She is survived by her sons, Dennis Nalley, John Nalley and Lori Pershing; grandchildren, Lane Nalley, Dakota Nalley, Alex Provost and Jessie Pershing; siblings, Dorothy Sanders Cook, Lois Sanders Elzey, Jerry Sanders, Mark Sanders, Larry Sanders; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 17th, 2025, at 11:00 AM, in the chapel of Ingram Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Sanders and Rev. Jerry Sanders officiating. The interment will follow at Peachtree Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, September 16th, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM, and again on Wednesday, from 9:00 AM until the hour of service.
