Ben C. Smith

Ben C. Smith, 80 of Cumming Ga. passed away Tuesday February 5 at his home with family. Ben was born in 1932 to Paul Kimbrell and Ray Smith and raised in Ruston, LA. He played football for Louisiana Tech and graduated with a chemical engineering degree in 1957. He joined the Army after school and met his wife of 51 years, Carolyn Smith while stationed in FT. Smith, AR. Ben worked as an executive in the paper industry for 40 years, 17 years of which he spent with the Mead Corporation. In 1993 he started his own company, Paperboard Resources. He enjoyed playing golf and travelling the world. Ben is survived by his wife Carolyn, son Ben Jr. of Cumming, Ga., son Drew of Cumming Ga, daughter Caroline McDorman of Brooklyn, NY, brother P.K. Smith of Houston, TX and six loving grandchildren
