Bertha Mae Mooney Wilkie, 85, a lifelong resident of Forsyth County passed away Thursday, August 20, 2026. Bertha left high school and married the love of her life, Rupert Wilkie, at 17 years old. She worked for Wilson and Tyson Chicken for 32 years. She loved reading, crossword puzzles, painting and working in her yard. Bertha was a member of Hightower Baptist Church.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 49 years; sisters, Marylou Roper and Louise Ray; brother, James Mooney; and her grandson, Brett Wilkie as well as a number of other relatives.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Danny and Terrie Wilkie; daughter and son-in-law Robin and Bradley Caine; grandchildren, Brandi Wilkie, Cody Brackett and Shandi Gonzales; great grandchildren, Dalton, Sawyer, Coen, Kaia, Jose, Lucas, Rosa, Bryce and Case.

Funeral services will be held Monday, August 24, at 1:00 p.m. at Hightower Baptist Church with Rev. Gerral Richards and Rev. Randy Richards officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Monday from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
