Bill Jenkins passed away peacefully, surrounded by the love of his family. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Bill shared 41 wonderful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Susan Jenkins. He is survived by his sons, Chuck Jenkins (wife Amy) and Scott Jenkins; his grandchildren, Landon, Billy, and Brian; and his great-grandchildren, Teddy and Winnie.
Bill dedicated more than 50 years to his career, beginning with Western Electric and continuing through AT&T/Lucent Technologies, ultimately with OSF Optics. His strong work ethic and commitment to excellence were evident throughout his life.
He proudly served in the United States Army, and later continued his dedication to others through public service as a Forsyth County Commissioner from 1996 to 2000.
Bill loved adventure and enjoyed fishing, traveling, treasure hunting, golfing, history, watching classic western films and watching his grandkids play sports. He will be remembered for his loyalty, service, and the love he had for his family and community.
In accordance with his wishes, no public viewing or service will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the ALS Association.
