Burma Mae Parks, age 75, of Forsyth County, passed away Friday, September 6, 2013. She was the oldest member on the Board of Directors of Georgia Highlands Medical Center, voted Outstanding Woman of the Catholic Archdiocese of Atlanta and volunteered at The Place and as a chef at Cedar Hill Retreat Center. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Parks; son, Johnny Dewey Parks; and parents, Johnny and Carrie Mae Waits. Survivors include her daughter, Sandy Holcomb; grandchild, Sheneia Parks; great grandchild, Anneliese Turner; and several cousins and other relatives also survive. Funeral services will be held Monday, September 9th at 11:00 am at Ingram Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Joseph Curtis Holcomb, IV officiating. Interment will follow in Sawnee View Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at Ingram Funeral Home on Sunday from 12:00 noon until 9:00 pm and Monday from 9:00 am until time of the service.
