Cheryl Bragg Hood, 74, of Cumming, GA passed away peacefully on March 15, 2024. She leaves behind a legacy of unconditional love and unwavering dedication to her family and her community. Cheryl was a member of Coal Mountain Baptist Church. 

Born on July 18,1949 in Kirksfield, MO, Cheryl grew up with a nurturing spirit that would define her life’s journey. She moved with her family to Forsyth County in elementary school and was a graduate of Forsyth County High School. After high school, she spent her career serving others, from working in banking and insurance to later serving students in the Forsyth County School System. 

As a devoted wife, Cheryl shared a lifetime of love and partnership with her husband of 56 years, Duane. Their bond was one of commitment and unwavering support. After raising two children and operating a small business, they shared a love for attending events of their grandchildren and anything involving classic cars. 

Cheryl was known for making sure everyone around her was taken care of, especially her abilities as a talented cook. She delighted in preparing delicious meals for her family and friends, creating culinary masterpieces that brought joy and comfort to all who sat at her table. Her smile, kindness, and unwavering strength will continue to inspire those whose lives she touched, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of many. She was the absolute pillar of her family. 

Besides her husband Duane, Cheryl is survived by her children Dee (Hank) Gravitt and Deborah (Jason) Logan and grandchildren, Carter and Ellladee Gravitt and Jake and Kinley Logan. She also leaves behind her brother, Steve Bragg, and brothers-in-laws and sisters-in-laws Bill and Gena Hood, Margie Hood Charles, Linda Hood Lang, David and Tammy Hood, and Linda Hood. A number of nieces and nephews also survive. Cheryl was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Betty Bragg, siblings, Tim Bragg and Nancy Bragg, and brother-in-law, Dean Hood.

Funeral services to remember Cheryl’s life will be held on Sunday, March 17, 2024 at 4:00 PM at Coal Mountain Baptist Church with Rev. Gary Martin, Pastor Chuck Bragg, and Rev. Richie Brown officiating. Interment will follow at Sawnee View Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Ingram’s Funeral Home from 11 AM - 3:30 PM prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Celebrate Recovery at Cross Bridge Community Church in Dawsonville, GA.
