Christopher Allen Jasper

Christopher Allen Jasper, 68, of Cumming, Georgia, passed away on October 13, 2025.

Born in Fort Smith, Arkansas, to Eugene and Carley Jasper of Subiaco, Chris grew up on the family farm as one of six children. He graduated from Subiaco Academy in 1975 and earned his Bachelor's Degree from the University of Arkansas in 1979.

Chris began his career in electrical engineering at Intel in Oregon, where he was an integral member of the design of the chip that went into the first personal computer. After his work at Intel, he and a few of his friends formed Radisys, a successful telecom software company, where he held several positions. In 1998, he returned to Subiaco to teach at his alma mater. It was there he met Susan and her son Zach. The three quickly bonded, and Chris and Susan were married in October 7, 2000.

After giving back to society by teaching for two years, Chris and his new family moved back to Portland in 2001 to return to his engineering work. Chris and Susan completed their family by adopting their daughter Julianna in October of 2003. While there, he enjoyed every minute of sharing his love for camping, fishing, and hiking in the beautiful outdoors with his family.

After being diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2009 the radiation treatments rapidly transitioned him to a more progressive situation. Despite his debilitating illnesses and excruciating pain, Chris remained a loving husband, devoted father and cherished friend. Known for his corny jokes, warm smile, and good-natured zingers, he brought laughter to those around him. Known as the Mayor of his neighborhood, he always greeted people in his wheelchair with a friendly smile and wave.

In his final years, Chris displayed remarkable courage and resilience. His long battle with MS and new struggle with prostate cancer that had spread to his bones were marked by unwavering optimism and strength. Though the battle was immense, he faced it with grace and determination.

Chris leaves behind a legacy of love, integrity, and devotion. Proverbs 20:7 says, ''The righteous man walks in his integrity; his children are blessed after him."

Julianna and Zach are his greatest legacy-and through them, his spirit lives on.
