Clain Gravitt, 80, of Cumming, GA passed away on December 14, 2025, to be with his Lord and Savior. He was a man of deep Christian faith, wisdom, integrity, and humility.
He was a devoted husband, a loving father, grandfather, and uncle, a faithful brother and brother-in-law, and a friend and neighbor to many. He is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Kay (McCord) Gravitt; children, Mike (Carla) Gravitt, Donna (Jim) Geeslin, and Keith Gravitt; and grandchildren, Grant (Trish), Kellson (Bella), and Ellis Gravitt and Nick, Frannie, Maggie, and Jack Geeslin. He is also survived by his brothers and sisters-in law, Jerry (Elsie) McCord, Marion (Bessie) McCord, Becky McCord (Gary) Beck, Ginny (Kurt) Ledbetter, Libby (Rick) Rodgers, Emmett (Sherry) McCord, and Harold (Karen) McCord as well as many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Ola (Fouts) Gravitt, brothers C.L., Harry, James, Broughton, and Ira, and sister, Nellie Kate.
Clain was a life-long resident of Cumming and a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church since 1955. There, Clain was the eldest deacon with over 40 years of service. He also served as a Sunday School teacher (over 40 years), song leader, and a friend to many who turned to him for help and counsel. Clain had a 31-year career at Bell South and later used his God-given talents as a master carpenter and electrician.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, from 11 AM until 8 PM at Ingram Funeral Home, 210 Ingram Avenue, Cumming, GA 30040. Services for Clain will be held on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, at 11 AM at Oak Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Craig Richard, Rev. Garry English, Rev. Harold McCord, and Rev. Dennis Bottoms officiating. Interment will follow the service at Oak Grove Baptist Church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Oak Grove Baptist Church Camp Fund.
