Clyde Reynolds Appling, Jr., 76, of Alpharetta, GA, passed away on September 20, 2026.

Clyde graduated from Campbell High School in 1967. He earned both a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in finance from Georgia State University. Mr. Appling retired from Georgia State University in the finance department after twenty years of dedicated service.

Clyde was a classic car enthusiast and especially enjoyed Chevrolets. He also enjoyed traveling to the mountains with his wife, Betty. Clyde and Betty met in 2007 and built a wonderful life together.

Clyde was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde R. Appling, Sr. and Bernice H. Appling; and sister, Donna A. Attaway.

He is survived by his loving wife of 12 years, Betty Appling of Cumming, GA; sister and brother-in-law, Elaine and Dr. Lee Redding of Moultrie, GA; and nieces and nephews, John Lee Redding and his wife, Robin, and Kelly Redding, all of Moultrie, GA.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 23, 2026, at Sawnee View Gardens in Cumming, GA, with Rev. Nicky Gravitt officiating.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, September 23, 2026, from 12:30 p.m. until 1:30 p.m. at Ingram Funeral Home, 210 Ingram Avenue, Cumming, GA 30040.
