Cynthia "Cindi" Mae (Hall)
Casenta
April 28, 1961 – May 27, 2026
Cynthia "Cindi" Mae (Hall) Casenta, beloved wife, mother, sister, and aunt, passed away peacefully on May 27, 2026, in Cumming, Georgia, surrounded by her family — shortly after celebrating her 65th birthday.
Born April 28, 1961, in Parkesburg, Pennsylvania, Cindi grew up in Chester County and graduated from Octorara High School, where she was first-chair flutist in concert band and a gifted pianist. She went on to cosmetology school and worked briefly as a hairdresser in the early 1980s. During those years she met Bob, a musician and engineer playing in a local rock band. That chance meeting led to their marriage on April 5, 1986, and more than 40 years together that would carry them from Pennsylvania to Georgia, where they raised their two children in Grayson and later made their home in Cumming.
Cindi was warm, quick-witted, and intensely curious, with a vivid imagination that colored everything she did. An unquenchable reader, she burned through a book a week: fantasy, science fiction, romance, and beyond. Her taste in music ran just as wide. She brought that same range to the kitchen, expertly cooking up classic comforts her family craved while always concocting something new. That curiosity extended further still, into the virtual worlds she loved. There, she was no casual player; she took pride in mastery and leadership, guiding guilds of friends to conquer those realms' greatest challenges. She did it all while building an accomplished career, rising to Vice President of a Georgia-based environmental consulting firm.
Above all else a devoted and deeply present mother, Cindi poured herself into her children: countless hours of reading and puzzles, packed lunches, trips to the library and playground. In her hands, even video games became reading lessons. Her extravagant birthday parties were legendary amongst the neighborhood kids: each year a new theme, from princesses to Nintendo, brought to life with handmade piñatas, immersive activities like a dinosaur fossil excavation, and an elaborate cake to match. As her children grew, that attentiveness never faded, only changed shape; her unconditional support remained constant.
While raised in a Protestant home, Cindi ultimately followed her own spiritual path, grounded in humanist ideals, a love of the natural world, and an open sense of the sacred. Open-minded and accepting, she appreciated people exactly as they were, and all who met her felt it.
Cindi was proud and strong-willed, and with that strength came an unwavering dedication to those she loved. All of her, exactly as she was, will be deeply missed.
She is survived by her husband, Bob Casenta; her son, Robbie Casenta (Sarah); her daughter, Michelle Kimbrough (Matthew); and her sisters, Jean Smith (James) and Joyce Ford (Mark); as well as her nieces and nephews: Kimberly Smith Belkowski, Becca LoGrasso (Vito), Erin Ford Kauppila (Mark), Heather Smith (Jessica), Ben Ford (Michaela), Christopher Pyott, Jeremy Pyott, and Rod Smith (Kandi).
Cindi was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde Everett Hall and Rebecca Spickler, and her siblings, Lois Pyott and Clyde E. Hall Jr.
A private memorial will be held with close family and friends.
