David Keith Abercrombie, a beloved husband, father, son, brother, and friend, passed away on August 11, 2026, at the age of 53.
He leaves behind a loving family who will forever carry his memory in their hearts. He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Dawn; his two children, Sean and Sara; his mother and stepfather Jenny and Ron Brown; his father and step mother Donald and Sue Abercrombie; and sister Dena Abercrombie.
David attended the Georgia Institute of Technology, where he was a SigEp and formed friendships that remained meaningful and strong throughout his life.
Some of David’s greatest joy came from being with the people he loved most. He rarely missed Sean’s baseball games and treasured the many hunting trips they shared. He loved cheering Sara on at her gymnastics meets and cherished the moments watching movies and their favorite television shows together.
David also loved spending time with his friends, whether cheering on the Yellow Jackets at football games, watching Georgia Tech and Braves baseball, or enjoying the concerts. These moments were among the greatest joys of his life. More than any accomplishment, it was the love he had for his family and friends that made these memories so special and that will be remembered most.
David was also deeply proud of his more than 24-year career in cybersecurity, a field that allowed him to combine his creativity, love of learning, and passion for sharing his knowledge with others. He valued the opportunity to work alongside talented people, solve challenging problems, and continually learn and grow throughout his career.
Though our hearts are broken by his passing, we find comfort knowing that he is now at peace and in the loving arms of the Lord. He will be deeply missed.
John 14:27 Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.
