David Leighton Baber, age 73, passed away at his home in Sugar Hill, Georgia on Tuesday, July 15, 2014. He was born in Winchester, Kentucky on April 6, 1941. He grew up in Covington, Kentucky and graduated from Holmes High School, class of 1959. Afterwards, he proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force. He then worked in sales and management in the uniform rental industry. He later worked in sales and service in the hardware business. He also coached and refereed soccer and enjoyed reading, as well as spending time with his family and pets.
He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Donna; his daughters Tracie Behan (Chris) of O''Fallon, MO and Kala Dondanville (Nathan) of Woodstock, GA; his grandchildren Bryce, Tatum, Erin and Braden; his brother James (Elena) of Huntsville, AL; nephew Danny Baber (Jill) of Arnaudville, LA, and niece Angela Davis (Ricky) of Birmingham, AL.Dave was preceded in death by his parents, Roy Leighton Baber and Winifred Pendergraff, as well as his half-brother, Jack Baber.
A memorial service will be held at First Christian Church of Lawrenceville on Saturday, July 19, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. Flowers or memorial gifts may be sent to the Baber family at 235 Myersmere Ln, Sugar Hill, GA 30518.
