Dean Dee Unsicker went to be with his Lord and Savior on May 12, 2026. He was born in Peoria, IL to the late Elmer and Wilma Unsicker.

Dean faithfully dedicated his life to Christian education and leadership, serving students, families, and communities for decades. He was co-founder and elementary principal of Providence Christian Academy, Director of Development at Loganville Christian Academy, Head of School at Rosehill Christian School, and Head of School at Horizon Christian School before retiring.

Dean was preceded in death by his brother, Alan Unsicker.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Carol Unsicker; son and daughter in-law, Timothy and Andrea Unsicker; daughters and sons in-law, Beth and Daniel Bentley, Michelle and Jason Goehner. He is also survived by ten grandchildren, Sage, Jetta, Julia, Layla, Camilla, Jackson, Selah Grace, Caroline, Alaya, and Sophia; sister and brother-in-law, Rita and Terry Stuber; one niece, Mindy and two nephews, Ryan and Cameron.

Dean attended Local Church Dawson. In his spare time he enjoyed sports, especially coaching basketball, reading, cruising, and was a car enthusiast. Above all, he cherished his family and loved Jesus. His legacy of faith, leadership, kindness, and dedication to his family and service to Christian education will continue to impact the many lives he touched through the years.

A celebration of life will be held 1:00 pm Saturday, June 6, 2026 at Local Church Dawson, 31 Successful Way, Dawsonville, GA 30534. The family will greet friends following the celebration service.

In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to Horizon Christian Academy, 1270 Sawnee Dr., Cumming, GA 30040 or to Prince Avenue Christian School, 2201 Ruth Jackson RD, Bogart, GA. 30622 in honor of Dean Unsicker.
