Donna Jean Akins

Donna Jean Akins, 54, of Gainesville passed away Friday, October 12, 2018. A longtime server, Donna worked for 21 years at the Midway Meal House. She was a loving daughter, wife, mother and sister who always had a smile. Donna particularly loved her kitties. She is preceded in death by her father, Calvin (Judge) Payne.

Survivors include her husband, Keith Akins of Gainesville; daughters, Jessica (John) Manley of Dawsonville and Crissy Thompson of Gainesville; mother and step-father, Pauline and Larry Martin of Jasper; grandchildren, Aurora Cross, Emma Thompson, Eli Thompson, Charleston Manley, and Chase Manley; sister, Vicky (Dave) Sams of Canton; several cousins and other relatives.

Memorial services will be held Tuesday, October 16, at 1:00 p.m. at the Ingram Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jackie Stewart officiating.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday from 4:00 to 9:00 p.m. and Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
