Dorothy “Dee” Ahlquist

Dorothy “Dee” Ahlquist (nee Merget) of Cumming, Ga passed away peacefully on August 10, 2023 at home.  

Born January 4, 1949 in Kingston, N.Y., Dee was a longtime resident of Kings Park, Long Island and graduated from Kings Park HS, class of 1967. 

She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Robert H. Ahlquist a daughter, Christyn E. Ballentine of Nashville, TN, a son Erik O.Ballentine and his wife Mailine Ballentine of Cumming, GA. and a grandson Justin Ray.

Dee had many talents, among them were decorating and painting. She was an animal rescue advocate and helped support and rescue numerous animals in desperate need.  Her wishes were for everyone to donate to any of the many animal rescue charities.
