Dorothy (Jean) Ingram, wife of the late William Robert (Bill) Ingram Jr., mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on Thursday November 27th, 2025. Born on January 1st 1927, in Winder, Georgia, Jean’s journey was marked by hard work, resilience, and a joyful spirit that touched the lives of all who knew her. She was a member of The First Baptist Church of Stockbridge for over 50 years.
During World War II, she answered the call to service as an airplane riveter at Bell Bomber, demonstrating courage and a remarkable work ethic from a young age. Her career path was diverse and impactful—she formed lifelong friendships at Rich’s and worked diligently at Montage Blue Horse Paper Company to help secure a home for her family. Once this goal was achieved, Jean transitioned to her most cherished role as a stay-at-home wife and mother, dedicating herself wholly to her family’s well-being.
She was a skilled homemaker, nurturing her family with love and care. Her green thumb kept gardens flourishing, while her hands crafted beauty through ceramics, quilting, needlepoint, and more. Her creative spirit filled her home with warmth, and many of her cherished creations will continue to be treasured by her loved ones.
Jean’s kitchen was always a welcoming place, filled with the aroma of her delicious pound cakes—an anticipated treat at every family gathering. She was not only an accomplished cook and baker but also an avid reader who inspired curiosity and a love of learning in those around her.
Above all, Jean’s devotion to family was the cornerstone of her life. She provided support to her children, grandchildren, and extended family, often caring for young relatives while their mothers worked.
Her life was a testament to faith, resilience, and the enduring power of love. She will be remembered for her joyful laughter, creative spirit, and the countless ways she brought her family together. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
Jean is survived by Joyce (Bob) Dison, Randy (Bonnie) Ingram, Scott (Christie) Ingram, Five Grandchildren, Nine Great Grandchildren & Ten Great Great Grandchildren
