Eddie Morris Roper

Eddie Morris Roper, age 76, of Cumming, Ga, made the transition to his Heavenly home on his birthday Saturday, August 26, 2023, at his residence surrounded by his loving family and friends. He was born on Tuesday, August 26, 1947, in Forsyth County to the late Doyle and Cleo Roper. He was the youngest child of 11 children. 

In 1968, Eddie married the love of his life, Linda Sexton. Eddie was a kind and simple man who cared for everyone he met. He was a beloved Husband, Godfather, Pop, Uncle, and friend to many. His family was a priority in his life. He was a dedicated and loyal employee of 44 years at Coal Mountain Builders Supply in Cumming, Ga. He enjoyed and took great pride in mowing and maintaining his beautiful lawn. People would comment on what a beautiful lawn they had, when asked where they lived. He accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and was baptized at Mount Pisgah Church and later moved his membership to Zion Hill Baptist Church where he was still a member upon his death. He was a lifelong resident of Forsyth County. 

He was preceded in death by his parents Doyle and Cleo Roper, Brothers, and Sister-in-laws Holbert and Adell Roper, Egbert Roper, Ralph and Helen Roper, Marcus Roper and Sisters and Brother-in-laws Inez and James Chadwick, Fairy Higgins, Shirley and Charles Gurley, Peggy and Gary Barrentine, Father-in-law and Mother-in-law E.A. Sexton and Myrtlene Smith Sexton.

Eddie is survived by his loving wife Linda of 55 years; a God-daughter Jessie Lewis League and spouse Savannah League, God-grandchildren Alyssa, Triston, Kenzie, Jaxon all of Cumming Ga, Brothers and Sister-in-laws Jerry and Anne Sexton of Alpharetta, Ga, Billy and Jackie Sexton, of Cumming Ga, and Sister-in-law Mary Lou Roper of Cumming Ga, and many other nieces and nephews. 

Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 30th at 2pm at Ingram’s Funeral Home Chapel in Cumming, Ga, officiated by Rev. Sam Rickett. Interment will follow at Sawnee View Gardens in Cumming, Ga

The family will receive friends at Ingram’s Funeral Home on Tuesday, August 29th, from 4pm To 8pm and on Wednesday, August 30th from 11am until the time of service at 2pm. 

Eddie was blessed with some of the best caregivers from Agape Hospice care and the family is thankful for all their kindness.
