Edward Albert Currier

Edward A. Currier, 77, died peacefully in his home surrounded by his loving family in Cumming, GA on May 6, 2014. He was born in Worcester, MA on September 14, 1936 to Clinton and Dorothie Currier. Ed attended Shaker Heights High School and continued his education at Syracuse University where he received a Bachelor's in Business and was part of the swim team. Ed was married to Carol Currier from Sharpsville, PA and they had two daughters whom they raised in Kirtland Hills, Ohio. Ed retired as a Lieutenant Colonel from the US Air Force and retired from his business career. He was affiliated with Lakeland Community College as a teacher and worked for the Center of Business and Industry. He moved to Cumming, GA once his first grandchild was born. In his early retirement, Ed was active in his church and community and was instrumental in building the Kirtland Public Library. Ed was very proud of his service to our country and he loved to golf, travel, target shoot, ski and he was a prolific reader. He also loved to spend time with his grandchildren. Ed is survived by his wife Carol and their two daughters Susan (Rob) MacKrell of Cumming, GA and Kim Currier of Chicago, IL. He is also survived by three grandchildren: Alex, Rachel and Sarah MacKrell. Contributions can be made in Ed's name to the American Cancer Society or Wounded Warrior Project. The Currier family will be hosting a Celebration of Ed's life at Quail Hollow in Concord, Ohio on June 7th, 2014 from 3 to 5 pm.
