Effie Darlene Griffis

Effie "Darlene" Griffis, age 81, of Cumming, GA, passed away Friday, September 23, 2022. She was a member of Christ Culture Center, (formerly Trinity Worship Center) in Cumming, GA.

Darlene had worked as a legal secretary for over 20 years, but was most remembered as an accomplished musician in the church and in gospel/choral music. In her early  years as a musician she traveled and sang with her life long friends in the Davis Trio, while also serving as pianist/organist in her church. From 1997-2016 she had served as organist & pianist for Trinity Worship Center. She was loving wife, mom and family member to all who knew her. She is preceded in death by her parents, Alvin & Effie McCants, and her husband F.B. Griffis the love of her life.

She is survived by her children,  Dr. Ken (Sheila) and Keith (Kerri) Griffis; grandchildren, Kenedi, Mekena, Jillian, Prestyn, Kayleigh and Chandler Griffis; great grandchildren, Kensley and Estella Castorela; Sisters, Betty Turner and Sylvia Bee and children; along with many other loving relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Darlene Griffis, will be held Saturday, October 1, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Christ Culture Center, located at 315 Kelly Mill Rd., Cumming, GA 30040. Grave side services will be held Monday at Georgia National Cemetery. Visitation will be at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 1, 2022, before the service.

In Leiu of flowers, the family ask that donations be made in memory of Darlene to Christ Culture Center.
