Elaine Layfield

Elaine Layfield, 90, joined her beloved husband, Tom Layfield, on January 5, 2013. She is survived by her sons, Richard and Steven Layfield; daughters Kathy Moreland and Pegi Fitton, 5 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. As a graduate of Young Harris, Elaine became an executive secretary at the Center for Disease Control and the VA hospital in Atlanta. She took time off to raise her 4 children and enjoyed camping, boating and traveling. Elaine was always quick with a smile and kind word, and her compassion and positive attitude brought joy to her family, church and community. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, January 12th, in the chapel of Ingram Funeral Home in Cumming, GA. The family will receive friends from 1:00 - 2:00 PM at the funeral home prior to the service. Elaine will be interred at Georgia National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to St Jude Children's Research Hospital. Ingram Funeral Home & Crematory, Cumming, Georgia is in charge of arrangements.
