Elizabeth "Joann" Smith

Elizabeth “Joann” Smith was born on September 19, 1942, to the late Reverend Gib and Alva Evans. She was a faithful wife, loving mother, and cherished grandmother. Joann studied God’s Word and served in leading many bible studies and taught Sunday School. She enjoyed singing gospel music and visiting Baptist churches. She was talented in crafting, sewing, cooking, and decorating cakes. Joann served others in her family, community, and church with her big heart, fun sense of humor, and warm smile. She loved to travel with her family. She is preceded in death by her parents, Rev. Gib and Alva Evans; brother, Harold Evans.

She is survived by her husband, Earl Daniel Smith; sons, Gary (Deborah) Smith, Lamar (Edwina) Smith, Greg (Yufang) Smith; grandchildren, Billy (Jennifer) Smith, Randy (Amber) Smith, Stephanie (James) Bruhl, Daniel Smith, Blake Croft, Dalton Smith, Dakota Smith; 8 great grandchildren; siblings, Bradly Evans, Donnie Evans, Danny Evans, Brenda Smith; numerous nieces, nephews, friends, and others who she cherished deeply.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 24th, 2025, at 2:00 PM, in the chapel of Ingram Funeral Home with Rev. Danny Evans and Rev. Bobby Whitmire officiating. The interment will follow at Cross Roads Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, June 24th, 2025, from 10:00 AM until the hour of service.
