Eric B. Lundquist

Eric B. Lundquist (85) of Cumming, GA passed away May 21, 2020 at his daughter's home in Warner Robins, GA surrounded by loved ones. A celebration of life will be held at his daughter's home at a later date. Eric was known by everyone for his outgoing personality, his beaming smile, going out of his way to help others and for the love he had for his family.

He was born in Aliquippa, PA and moved to Southern California at a young age. As a boy he would take summer trips to Youngstown, OH. He was also an active Boy Scout. After graduating from Bell High School, he joined the Air Force as a communications decoder during the Korean War. He was stationed in Germany and spent his extended weekends traveling Europe.

After fulfilling his service with the Air Force, he met the love of his life, Barbara Jean Greenup. They eloped and married two months later at the Little White Chapel in Las Vegas, NV. Ten years later they adopted their only daughter, Ericka.

They were both very active in the Epsilon Sigma Alpha Philanthropic Sorority within which they volunteered many hours to raise funds for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Being sports enthusists, they were University of Southern California (USC Trojan) fans and had football season tickets for 40-plus years. Both were active in the Esperanza High School marching band boosters club in Anaheim, CA.

The couple enjoyed traveling. They had many weekend trips to Vegas to go to a variety of concerts, including Sinatra and Elvis. Their adventures included: going to Hawaii several times, more cruises than you can count, many European vacations, trips to Crestline, boating at Lake Havasu and, more often than anything, cross-country trips to visit family.

Eric was a retired appliance salesman. He worked for both Admiral and Frigidaire where he received top sales awards.

Eric and Barbara both had a knack of holding on to friends for a lifetime. They lived in the same house on Woodwind Lane in Anaheim (Yorba Linda), CA for 42 years where the neighbors were like family. Both were long time members of Placentia Presbyterian Church.

They moved to Cumming, GA in 2007 to be near their grandchildren. Both were very active in their grandchildren's lives and attended numerous gymnastics, baseball, softball, church, basketball and cheerleading activies. They attended Midway United Church in Cumming, GA.

Those who knew Eric knew he would give you the shirt off his back. He had a smile to share and something kind to say to cheer you up. He had a larger than life presence. Eric adored his family as they adored him.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 56 years (Barbara passed away in 2012 of pancreatic cancer 4 days after being diagnosed), his mother Marion Rhodus of Hemet and his father Eric Lundquist of Pomona.

He is survived by his daughter Ericka Burke (and Mike King) of Warner Robins, GA.
Eric is also survived by grandchildren: Matt and (Katie) Figueroa of Cumming, Willie Burke of Alpharetta, Melissa Burke of Columbia, SC, Erik Burke of Marietta and BriAnna King of Warner Robins.

He is also survived by one great-grandchild: Logan Figueroa of Cumming.

Ingram Funeral Home & Crematory, 210 Ingram Ave, Cumming, GA 30040 is in charge of arrangements.
