Eva Mae Allen Parks, 87, of Cumming passed away Wednesday, September 4, 2024. Eva was born and raised in Hall County. She was a 1955 graduate of Gainesville High School. She married the love of her life, Everett Parks, in December of 1955 and moved to the country. For 68 years, they have spent their lives farming and raising their family. In their later years, they enjoyed loving, caring and spoiling their grandchildren and great grandchildren. The table was always full of the best biscuits and gravy or chicken and dumplings. She always had coffee on for anyone that wanted to stop by. Nanny enjoyed taking care of all of us, swinging on her porch swing, or playing in the floor with her great grandbabies. She spent her free time quilting and crocheting, ensuring that everyone she loved had something she made. She was a proud member of Harmony Grove Baptist Church, a Deacon’s wife, prayer warrior, long time member of the Women’s Sunday School class, and was always supportive and active in all events and services. She helped organize some of the first vacation Bible Schools at Harmony Grove.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Sam and Minnie Allen, her loving in-laws Hoke and Mamie Belle Parks; sister and brother-in-law, Mildred and J.C. Ledford; brother Larry Allen; sisters-in-law, Tralys and Egbert Durand, Eddie Lee and Gervis Olive, Blanch and Fermon Brookshire, Winnie Brookshire. Brothers-in-law, Elroy Warbington and David Kerby.
She is survived by devoted husband of 68 years, Everett Parks; children, David and Carolyn Parks and Connie and Randy Fowler; grandchildren, Jessica Parks, Jonathon and Courtney Parks, Hillery and David Maradiaga, Anna and Joe Franks; great grandchildren; Kendall, Kelby, Aubrey, Christian, Kyrie, Eva Mae, and Oliver, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Boyd and Jeanne Parks, Laura Belle Warbington, Jane and Phillip Williams, and Barbara Kerby; and a multitude of nieces, nephews, and other family members. Special thanks to Marvetta Mulligan for her love and care and Chris Hill with Golden Rule Hospice. Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 7, at 3:00 p.m. at the Ingram Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Scott Sorrells, Rev. Bud Sutton, Rev. Jeff Wilkie and Rev. James Parks officiating. Interment will follow at Sawnee View Gardens.
