Fernande Jean-Baptipste Chamblin was born February 24, 1924 in Port-Au-Prince, Haiti to the late Ananias and Mathilola Jean- Baptiste. She was the daughter of a Military General and sister to nine brothers.
Fernande married Ebert Chamblin on August 11, 1962 before leaving Haiti to move to the United States. She was a loving mother to three, grandmother to three and great-grandmother to two. Fernande was a faithful and devoted servant to the Roman Catholic Faith.
Fernande worked at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in NYC for many years before retiring. Her true passion was being a master seamstress, who owned a dress shop; making wedding dresses and ball gowns. In addition, she was an amazing cook. Fernande was an elegant woman, who loved to dress and be very chic.
Fernande departed this life on Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at Northeast Atlanta Health & Rehabilitation, Atlanta, GA. Her presence will never die in the hearts and minds of all those who loved her.
Fernande leaves to cherish her loving memory: her husband Ebert Chamblin, two sons: Jean and Claude Chamblin of Alpharetta, GA, one daughter, Mareline Camp of Johns Creek, GA; three grandsons: Edward Camp of Ballston Spa, NY, Justin Camp of Johns Creek, GA and Marcus Chamblin of Palm Coast, FL; two great-grandsons: Logan and Jayden Camp of Ronkonkoma, NY; three surviving brothers Pierre Jean-Baptiste of Port-Au-Prince, Haiti; Sterne Jean-Baptiste of London, England and Antoine Jean-Baptiste of Long Island, NY, Sister-in-law Vierge Bien Aime St. Jermain Jean-Baptiste Dallas, GA and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
