It is with great sadness that the family of Floyd C. Perry, III announces his unexpected passing on July 2, 2022 in Albany, NY 

Floyd was born in 1964 in Lawton, Oklahoma.  Floyd was preceded in death by his parentsFloyd Perry, Jr and Eleanor L. (Brown) Perry of Clarksville, Tenn.

He is survived by his children Monica L. Perry-NYC, NY; Joseph R. Perry-Branford, FL; Eian K. Perry (Jessica)-Gainesville, GA;  Amanda R. Thomason (Jackson)-Smith Station, AL. Grandson’s Oakley B. Thomason and Roman K. Perry.  Brother-Richard Brown (Diane)-Watertown, NY; Sister’s Eleanor Huff (Joseph), Mary Poore-Clarksville, TN; Janice Barrow-Daleville, AL, and Katherine Burton-Branson, MO; and a great multitude of nieces and nephews.

At a young age Floyd developed a zest for accomplishment. In high school he played a vital role on the football team. Floyd served his country in the US Army for over 24 years. Floyd was devoted to family.  His happiest times were spent with family, especially Oakley and Roman.  He was exceptionally talented with home restorations, furniture craftsman, and chef. He is a college graduate with several degrees and in his 50’s graduated from Culinary Arts School and became a skilled chef. Floyd was a free spirit with a great sense of adventure for life.  He enjoyed fishing, camping, hiking, restoring cars, traveling the world, and even hiking the Appalachian Trail.  He was most proud of the accomplishments of his children.  After retiring from the military Floyd joined his oldest son Joseph’s company.  He was known for his ability to mentor young co-workers dealing with difficult personal problems in the work place.  He was admired by many and known affectionately as Pop, Papa, and Grandpa to everyone in his circle. 

Memorial services are scheduled for 1:00 PM Friday July 29, 2022 in the chapel of Ingram Funeral Home.
