Franklin ("Frank") Benning Moon, 78, passed away peacefully on May 30, 2026, following a brief illness.
Born on November 24, 1947, in Cumming, Georgia, Frank spent most of his life in the community he loved. He was the eldest son of Walter Benning and Martha Lavese Mullinax Moon and was known for his strong work ethic and mechanical talents.
Frank is survived by his daughter, Kayc Moon Carper; his sister, Gail Moon Boswell (Randy); and his brother, Larry Moon (Brenda). He is also survived by his nephews, Justin Boswell (Claire), Jonathan Boswell (Crystal), Gabe Moon (Sheree), and Derek Moon (Amy); his nieces, Tiffany Moon Dodson (Dustin) and Melissa Moon Kent (Nathan); as well as many beloved great-nephews, great-nieces, cousins, and extended family members.
Throughout his career, Frank was respected for his skill and dedication. He was co-owner of Alpha North alongside his cousin, Ronald Mullinax, for more than 30 years. He also enjoyed the excitement of working with a championship-winning NASCAR team, an experience he often spoke of with pride. In addition, Frank held a Master Plumbing License for more than 40 years, a testament to his expertise and commitment to his profession.
Frank had a special love for animals and found great joy in their companionship. In honor of that love, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the Forsyth County Humane Society in lieu of flowers.
