Fred Lee Sykes, III

Fred Lee Sykes, III, 67, of Cumming passed away Friday, February 9, 2024 after an extended illness. Fred was born April 29, 1956 in Savannah, Georgia and moved to the Atlanta area in the late 1970’s. He was an automotive painter for Sandy Springs Toyota and various other body shops. More recently Fred’s biggest joy was being a PawPaw to his grandchildren. He enjoyed fishing and boating and always said his ministry was doing for others. Fred is preceded in death by his father, Fred L. Sykes, Jr. and his grandparents, Fred and Alvine Sykes.

Survivors include his wife, Lisa M. Sykes of Cumming; daughters, Tiffany Sykes of Cumming, Amberly Sykes of Buford; son, Steven Cabrera of Cumming; granddaughter, Brooklyn Pearl Oates; grandson, Jack Alexander Cabrera; mother, Shirley Dacko of Melbourne, FL; sister, Susan (Jim) Gruber of Colorado; brother, Kelly (Susan) Mueller of Colorado; and an uncle, John Sykes of Savannah.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 13, at 3:00 p.m. at the Ingram Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Sawnee View Gardens.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service.
