Gaynell B. Major

Gaynell B. Major, 81, a lifelong resident of Forsyth County passed away Sunday, May 25, 2025. Gaynell shared her love of cooking at the Lanier and Appalachian Restaurants, always enjoying seeing others enjoy a good meal. An avid collector, Gaynell enjoyed collecting buttons, roosters, bears and angels. She could often be found in her garden growing flowers, especially every color of daylilies. Gaynell deeply loved her babies and children. She is preceded in death by her husband, Walter H. Major; in-laws, L.C. and Addie Major; brothers-in-law, G.W. Major and Pete Johnson; sister-in-law, Ada Mae Taylor.

Survivors include her daughters, Debra Major and Reita Major Webb; granddaughters, Madison Stolzman and Natalie Stolzman; sisters-in-law, Lois Johnson and Sue Major; brothers-in-law, James and Gail Major and Lewis and Eva Major and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 29, at 11:00 a.m. at the Ingram Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Longstreet Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the family to offset funeral expenses.
