George Roscoe "Pop" Thomas, age 97, of Cumming, passed away Wednesday, June 27, 2012. He was a member of Antioch Baptist Church, a member of Mt. Zion Lodge #316 F& AM and Forsyth County Steam Engine Association. Roscoe was a co-founder of Thomas Brothers Lumber Company. He was preceded in death by his wife of 71 years, Alta Lee "Runt" Bagby Thomas; parents, George W. & Beulah Mae Thomas; brothers, Mahlon "Doodler" Thomas and Bonnie Thomas; sister, Geneva Martin. Survivors include his daughters and sons-in-law, Sandra and Leroy Hubbard and Joy and John Dooley all of Cumming; grandchildren, Tim Hubbard of Cumming, Russ and Kristie Hubbard of Cumming, Jennifer and Chris D'Agnese of Winder and Caren Dooley of Cumming; great grandchildren, T. C., Josh, Jake and Sarah Hubbard and Christian Thomas D'Agnese; sisters, Mary Ruth Gravitt of Buford, Dorothy Jean Burruss of Cumming, Inez Smith of Gainesville; brother, Harold Dean "Bud" Thomas of Cumming; sister-in-law, Mary Alice Thomas of Cumming. Funeral Services will be held Friday, June 29th at 2:00 p.m. at Ingram Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tim Hubbard, Rev. T. C. Hubbard, Rev. Josh Hubbard and Rev. Danny Bennett officiating. Interment will follow at Sawnee View Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Thursday from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and on Friday from 11:00 a.m. until hour of service. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Forsyth County Steam Engine Association, c/o Cindy Hansard, 2415Mountain Road, Cumming, GA 30040.
