George Underhill

Underhill, George Rockwell (Jun 30, 1944 May 30, 2012) of Boca Raton, FL passed away at North Forsyth Hospital in Cumming, GA. He was 67 years old.

George attended Thomas Edison High School in Elmira, N.Y; earned his B.S. in Engineering at Norwich University in Northfield, VT; M.S. in Structural Engineering at West Virginia University. George was an accomplished structural engineer who held a patent for salt storage, and a patent for soundwalls. He was licensed in 44 states and Canada. He will be missed for his smile, laughter, and dedication to his family and work.

George was the son of Alpheus and Claribel Underhill of Elmira, NY, and brother of Georgiana Underhill Gehret of Boca Raton, FL. George is survived by his wife, Lucia of 44 years, and his children Alexandra Underhill (Los Angeles, CA), Josephine Underhill DArcangelo (Cumming, GA), Alpheus Underhill (Los Angeles, CA), and Victoria Underhill Abbott (Denver, CO). George was grandfather to Liliana and Titus DArcangelo of Cumming, GA, and Carson and Penelope Abbott of Denver, CO.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Georges name to the American Diabetes Association P.O. Box 11454, Alexandria, VA 22312. A private family memorial will be handled by Byars Funeral Home of Cumming, GA.
