George “Jerry” Wyatt, also known as Crazy Horse, 76, beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend passed away Thursday, May 28, 2026.
Jerry was born May 24, 1950 in Cherokee County where he was a lifelong resident. In his younger years he enjoyed fishing, hunting and golf. He never missed watching the Georgia Bulldogs and he loved being a “Papa” to his grandson, Ashton. Jerry was a proud veteran, serving in the U.S. Army.
Jerry is preceded in death by his parents, Dewey and Bobbie Wyatt; sister and brother-in-law, Joyce Wyatt Johnson and Frank Johnson; brother, Billy Buren Wyatt and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Everett and Mildred Cowart,
He is survived by his beloved wife, Gloria Cowart Wyatt; son and daughter-in-law, Tim and Bridget Wyatt and grandson, Ashton Wyatt. He is also survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Linda and Lawrence McFarland; sister, Brenda Camp; brother, Lamar Wyatt; brother-in law and sister-in-law, Terry and Mona Cowart. Several nieces and nephews whom he loved so much also survive.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 3, at 2:00 p.m. at the Ingram Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Gerral Richards, Rev. Terry Cowart and Major Rob Mixon officiating. Interment will be held at a later date at Georgia National Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Disabled American Veterans or the charity of your choice.
