Georgene Marie Carruthers, 89, of Cumming, GA passed away June 4, 2026 with her loving family by her side. Georgene was born in Queens, NY to the late George and Rose Brier. Mrs. Carruthers was a devoted Catholic woman who put her faith and family first. Jean, her preferred name, married Robert Carruthers on November 14th, 1959. The family moved from Queens to Beth Page, Long Island in the early 1960’s. They eventually settled in Marietta, Georgia in 1971. Jean and Bob lived in the Fox Hills neighborhood for almost fifty years before transitioning to an assisted living facility in Brookhaven.

Georgene was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years Bob Carruthers. She is survived by her children, Nancy Carruthers, Rob Carruthers (Lisa), Scott Carruthers (Martha), Cindy Jenness (Mike); 10 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

A celebration of life will be held 11:00 am Saturday, June 27, 2026 in the chapel of Ingram Funeral Home with celebrant Phil Faulkner officiating. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Michael J. Fox The Parkinson's Foundation in honor of Mrs. Georgene Carruthers.
