Gerald Douglas Stodghill

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Gerald Douglas Stodghill, age 88, of Cumming, GA. Gerald passed away on Tuesday, December 17, 2024 at Chelsey Park Health and Rehabilitation in Dahlonega, GA. 

Gerald was born in Atlanta, GA on May 17, 1936. He served in the National Guard from the years of 1958 to 1966. He was a proud truck driver for many years. He loved NASCAR and was the biggest fan of Dale Earnhardt, Dale Earnhardt, Jr., and Chase Elliott. Gerald loved anything to do with cars and Chevrolet. He enjoyed fishing off his dock at Lake Lanier and reading books. He especially loved any book by C.J. Box. Gerald loved animals and had many dogs and cats over the years. He also loved going to the beach, especially Daytona Beach, FL. He was a proud father and grandfather (Two Daddy) that will be missed dearly.

He is survived by his wife of 66 years Elinor Joyce Stodghill, his daughter Kimberly Wilfong, his son-in-law Chris Wilfong, his granddaughter Mollie Blane, and his grandson-in-law Christopher Blane. 

He is preceded in death by his parents Ralph Stodghill and Mildred Chambers Stodghill, and his sisters Sylvia Worley, Karen Kentey, and Elaine Henderson. 

Visitation will be held Friday, December 20 from 6PM to 9PM at Ingram Funeral Home in Cumming, GA. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 21 at 2PM at Ingram Funeral Home.
