Geraldine “Jerry” Harrington, of Cumming, Georgia, passed away peacefully on September 25, 2024 at the age of 88. Her son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Melinda, were by her side. A devoted wife and loving mother, Jerry’s legacy will forever be cherished by those who knew her.
Jerry was born in Atlanta on July 27, 1936, and moved to Forsyth County in 1971, when she married James Harrington, Jr. Mr. Harrington founded Forsyth Industries, a local sewing plant that became a source of employment for many residents of Forsyth County. Jerry took pride in being a homemaker and stay-at-home mom, and often loved to dabble in catering and providing meals at their church. She enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, such as shopping, savoring meals at various restaurants, and creating lasting memories with her family.
Jerry is reunited in spirit with her beloved husband, James, as well as her parents, Melvin and Katherine Campbell Gravette, who welcomed her into eternity. Jerry was buried alongside James at Sawnee View Gardens on Wednesday, October 2. Her children and grandchildren will carry forward her legacy of love and dedication.
