Harley Rollins “Rolly” McDaris, age 78, of Gainesville, Georgia, passed away on January 14, 2026.
Rolly was born on July 8, 1947, in Decatur, Georgia. He served his country during the Vietnam War in the United States Marine Corps. Following his military service, Rolly worked in the glass construction industry and later as a real estate appraiser. He was known for his strong work ethic and practical skills.
Rolly found great joy and comfort in his friends and church family. He loved playing golf and cheering for the Georgia Bulldogs. Easygoing by nature, he had an infectious laugh and a genuine love for his family and friends that will be fondly remembered by all who knew him.
Rolly was preceded in death by his parents, Harley Earnest McDaris, Jr. and Stella Rollins McDaris.
He is survived by his sister, Pamela McDaris Burby, and her husband, James Burby; his nieces, Jill Voegele and Joy Goss; his grand-nieces and grand-nephews; beloved friends and cousins.
A Celebration of Life was held at Freedom Tabernacle in Cumming, Georgia on January 18, 2026. Interment will be held this spring at Decatur Cemetery.
Rolly will be deeply missed by his family and friends. As a devoted follower of Christ and faithful servant, he is now home with the Lord.
