Harriett Pearce Galberaith, age 101, passed away August 5th, 2025, at her residence in Alpharetta, GA.
Harriett was born in rural Polk County, FL on February 1st, 1924, to George and Helia Pearce. She and her six siblings grew up with no electricity, television, phones, or any modern conveniences. She learned to sew, quilt, and provide for her family off the land she grew up on. She had the unique ability of being a “water witch” and became an expert at finding underground water sources for many of her friends and neighbors. She resided in the Brewster and Mulberry area all her life until 9 years ago when she moved to Alpharetta, GA, to be close to her immediate family. She was a lifelong member of the Mulberry Methodist Church.
She is preceded in death by her husband, James Adrian Galberaith, whom she was married to for over 70 years, and her six siblings.
She is survived by her son, Steve Galberaith, daughter, Kay (Bob) Geller, 4 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on August 27th, 2025, from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM, at Ingram Funeral Home in Cumming, GA. Visitation will be followed by a memorial service at Ingram Funeral Home and the burial at Sawnee View Gardens. Both services will be officiated by Pastor Val Hattery of Mulberry, FL.
