Shri Harshadbhai Mohanlal Dave September 28, 1929 – November 21, 2025
With profound sorrow, we announce the passing of our beloved father, Shri Harshadbhai Mohanlal Dave, who left for his heavenly abode on November 21, 2025, in Atlanta, USA, at the age of 96. He passed away peacefully in the loving care of his daughters, Katyayani Dave and Viraj Dave, and in the presence of his cherished grandchildren.
A devout follower of Shriman Nathuram Sharma (Gurudev) and Maa Anandmayi Ma, he lived a life rooted in faith, compassion, and service. Born and raised in the coastal town of Mahuva, Gujarat, he was the son of Dr. Mohanlal Lalji Dave and Kantaben Dave, and grew up in a family that deeply valued education and community service.
He pursued Civil Engineering in the United States in the early 1960s, following the distinguished academic tradition of his family. Over the course of his career, he excelled as a Civil Engineer, contributing to numerous private and government construction projects with exceptional skill and integrity.
His devotion to Gurudev and Bilkha Anandashram, Junagadh was a guiding force throughout his life. As a respected Trustee of the Ashram, he dedicated himself to improving the facilities and experience of visiting and resident Gurubandhus, continually innovating and enhancing the Ashram’s infrastructure with both expertise and heartfelt commitment.
Shri Harshadbhai is survived by his three loving daughters—Katyayani Dave (Atlanta, USA), Poonam Dave (London, UK), and Viraj Dave (Atlanta, USA), son-in-laws Malay and Ajoy, ex son-in-law Shailendra—and his grandchildren Nitya, Umika, Suveer, and Saahat, all of whom he adored.
He will be dearly remembered for his cheerful nature, warm friendliness, selfless service, and boundless kindness. His passions were many—nature and wildlife, photography, gardening, ornithology, automobiles, and travel—all pursued with curiosity and enthusiasm.
We hold close the memories of a joyful childhood spent with him and our late mother Kokilaben Dave in Bhavnagar and Vadodara, nurtured by their love, encouragement, and shared spirit of inquiry about the world.
Pappa’s sense of humour, jovial spirit, and unmistakable sweet tooth—especially for Mohanthal, Chocolate Ice Cream and chocolates—will forever bring a smile to our hearts.
There will be a Pooja starting between 10am and 10:30am, followed by cremation at approximately 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 25, 2025. Visitors are welcome to join the family for a Pooja (Hindu prayer ceremony).
