Helen Slavsky Malinzak, age 90, of Cumming, peacefully passed away Wednesday, Jan. 21, 2016 with her loving family in her heart and by her side.
Helen was born on April 1, 1925 in Waltersburg, PA to Michael and Mary Gerber Slavsky. Helen was a factory worker, waitress, and especially a wonderful mother and grandmother. Upon her retirement, she moved to Apollo Beach, FL to enjoy the warmth of the South with her loving husband, Albert. Upon the death of Albert, she remained steadfast to live in Florida and continue her retirement years enjoying her tropical plants and flowers.
She is survived by her two sons and their spouses, David and Jeannette Malinzak of Apex, NC, and Don and Pamela Malinzak of Cumming, GA; her three grandchildren, Michael Malinzak, and Devyn and Calyn Malinzak; and two great-grandchildren, Patrick and his "sister-on-the-way" Malinzak; and her younger sister Dorothy Smiel of Smock, PA.
The family plans a service this June in Uniontown, PA to celebrate her wonderful life.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations made to the Mulitple Myeloma Research Foundation.
