Herbert Benson Whitmire

Herbert Benson Whitmire, 79, of Dawsonville passedaway Tuesday, January 16, 2018, after an extended illness.He is preceded in death by his parents, R.B., Jr. and Ruby Whitmire; sisters, Vivian Coker and Joyce Spain.

Survivors include his wife, Janice Whitmire; sons and daughters-in-law, Tim and Carol Whitmire, Tony and Kerri Whitmire; grandchildren, Charley Ann Whitmire and Clayton Whitmire; brother, Guy R. Whitmire; sisters, Laura Dean Long and Thelma JeanJerls.

Private graveside services will be held.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m.
