Obituary

James E. Castleberry, age 92, of Cumming, GA passed away May 14th, 2026. He was preceded in death by his parents, Kim & Dessie Mae Castleberry, Wife, Betty Jean Castleberry, Brother, Marcus (Melba) Castleberry, Sisters, Lillian (Allie) Archer and Mildred (Edwin) Shirley and brother in law Larry Honea. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Marine Corp. and served as a deacon at Bethany Baptist Church for over 50 years. He retired from Siemens Corporation and was a member of the Ducktown Masonic Lodge #572 F. & A.M.

Everett was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather who found his greatest joy in the simple things in life — spending time with his family, serving the Lord, and enjoying the outdoors. He loved hunting, fishing, and riding his tractor, and he was never happier than when surrounded by those he loved most. Known for his steady faith, generous heart, and humble spirit, Everett lived a meaningful life centered on family and hard work that honored the Lord. His quiet strength and unwavering love will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by sons, Dennis (Angie) Castleberry, Kevin (Lynn) Castleberry, Ben Castleberry, grandchildren, Eli (Kendra) Castleberry, Gideon (Rebecca) Castleberry, Easton Wright, Brenna Wright, great grandchildren, Isaac Castleberry, Asah Castleberry, Grayson Wright, in-laws, Bobby (Linda) Bennett and Glenda Honea along with many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 PM Sunday, May 17th, 2026, at Bethany Baptist Church with interment to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM and Sunday from 9:00 AM to 1:00PM at the funeral home.
