James Michael Chiariello, Sr., aged 83, passed away on July 9, 2024. He was a beloved father, grandfather, husband, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Jim was born on March 18, 1941 in Caldwell, NJ, where he spent his formative years. He went on to attend Rutgers University and obtained a Masters Degree in Ceramic Engineering. He worked as a computer analyst for IBM and Newsweek and as a computer consultant. Throughout his career, he was known for his hard work and problem solving.
Jim enjoyed spending time with his family. He enjoyed gardening, traveling, playing games, doing puzzles, and watching sports. He is known for his intelligence, smile, hugs, and quick wit.
He was an active member of his many church communities including Terrill Road Bible Chapel in Fanwood, New Jersey, Bridgewater Church in Montrose, Pennsylvania, and River of Life in Cumming, Georgia. He worked as treasurer and board member for Camp Iroquoina, in Hallstead, Pennsylvania.
Jim is survived by his loving wife, Annita Chiariello, his children, Lisa and Chris Wisniewski, James and Cindy Chiariello, Jr., Nancy and John Mangan, Steven and Sheryl Chiariello, Sandy Mangan, Adam Holland and Stephanie Selletie, Tonia and Robert Usher, Paul and Lindsay Chiariello, Matt and Chelsea Chiariello, his grandchildren, Bajio, Allegra, Allie, Hannah, Lucas, Amanda, Mackenzie, Kale, Cali, Sofia, Sammy and Finn, his sister Alice and husband Dale Walker, and brothers Dan, Pat Lynn and Roy Chariello. He is preceded by parents Alice and Pat Chiariello, and grandson, Caleb.
A private memorial service will be held for family and friends on August 3, 2024. Location/ time to be determined. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Camp Iroquoina, 2341 Camp Road, Hallstead, PA 18821.
