James "Jim" Kresl

James "Jim" Kresl (Jimmie, Daddy, Papa, Pops) 82,  went peacefully to be with the Lord on Thursday, February 16, 2023 with his loving family by his side. Although we are heartbroken, we are also at peace knowing he is with his Savior (sometimes he couldn't remember what he did the week before but he could remember anything and everything about the Bible). Jim was born In Omaha, Nebraska where he attended Benson High School and went on to graduate from The University of Omaha (UNO) in 1971. He started his one and only career in Fiber Optics with Western Electric and retired from Lucent Technologies after 40 years.

He proudly served in the United States Air Force and was very passionate about this country. Tennis and Golf were two of his favorite hobbies, even becoming  a golf marshall at a few clubs after his retirement. He also loved to fish, go camping and take many "Kreswold" trips with his family (Disneyworld was his favorite). He was a fierce fan of his favorite sports teams, The Nebraska Cornhuskers and the Atlanta Braves and was  loyal to the end. Jim was an amazing husband, dad, Papa and friend who never met a stranger and is and will always be missed and loved by those who were blessed to have known him. Jim is survived by his loving wife of almost 60 years, LaNaya Kresl and their three children; Jamie Kresl, Todd Kresl and Darci Kresl,  as well as his two grandchildren, Karlie Stone and Aidan Kresl. 

Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 23, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Ingram Funeral Home in Cumming, GA. Interment will follow at Sawnee View Gardens in Cumming, GA. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and on Thursday from 12:00 noon until the hour of service.
